About EPPA
The EPPA Approach
EPPA has developed a set of minimum technical requirements for perimeter protection. Member companies are encouraged to adhere to these requirements and to carry out an in-depth analysis to determine their customers’ needs.
The information provided by the customer is crucial to determine the best level of protection in order to provide an appropriate passive solution that reflects his current and future requirements. Inspection and maintenance also are important cornerstones to preserving the right level of perimeter protection.
EPPA members take the following factors into account when designing a perimeter protection solution that is tailor-made for their clients:
- Function – demarcation, protection, security
- Target audience – children, professional use
- Aesthetics and design – transparency, climbability, penetrability, application
- Environment – marine, mountains, countryside, vegetation, town etc.
- Type of fence – mesh, bar, palisade
- Height
- Corrosion protection
- Post strength and stability – number of posts and fixings required
- Impact resistance
- Wind load
- Expected lifetime
-
National requirements – planning permissions, local rules and regulations
