Secured Viaduct (Heras)

A local authority in The Netherlands needed to quickly ensure the safety of drivers along the A4 highway following the death of a driver due to stones being thrown from a fly-over.

Heras was contracted to develop an effective solution. Heras secured the fly-over by erecting a straight 2.5 meter high security fence with a further 0.5 m of security fence that was inclined inwards towards the centre of the bridge. The fence that was used was a rigid welded construction with a mesh aperture of 25 mm wide and 200 mm high.
